RAILCAR UNLOADING
Overview:
Over the last 30 years, United States Systems has made a name for itself in moving dry bulk materials from railcars to silos or trucks using our proven pneumatic conveying system approach. Our systems employ a simple, efficient concept that allows us to engineer systems without the excessive use of horsepower. This limits the need for maintenance and prevents premature wear on components. Savings in the use of horsepower also translates into less system heat and product degradation.
Speciality:
High rate pneumatic systems are our speciality. We have achieved high rates with all types of railcars:
- hopper;
- airslide; and
- pressure differential cars.

Higher Rates:
These high rate systems use either diesel or electric driven portable units that can range from 10 to 200 horsepower and can move material at a rate of one to a hundred ton per hour.
Construction:
To match the environment of our customers operations, US Systems' Pots and supporting systems are designed to be especially rugged. So rugged that one customer specifically reported, "no unscheduled repairs or breakdowns in over 7 years of continuous operation."
Each U.S. System Pot features:
- stainless steel, carbon steel, or aluminum construction
- visual inspection sight glasses
- user-friendly access/clean-out ports
- manual or automatic controls of pneumatic and electrical functions
- premium components
- 12VDC, pneumatic, or 120 VAC options

Choices:
Depending on the application, proven solutions could include header systems for multiple tracks and car spots, choices of vacuum, pressure or combination systems and portable and self-powered units.
Accessories:
Accessories that enable operators to work safely and efficiently include easy to connect aluminum vacuum pans with quick leak proof connections, flex hoses of stainless steel and food grade rubber to mate railcars to the system.
System Support:
To adjust our scope of supply to meet your needs, US Systems can also supply peripheral components like:
